We provide piano, violin and guitar lessons.

ORCHESTRA

The school orchestra is another opportunity for our students to exercise and develop their creative talents. Students have both individual and group lessons at school and are given the opportunity to perform at various times throughout the year. This year our orchestra has performed at the Opera House and Ryde Voices for Reconciliation.

Choir

Our choir performs many times during the year. The highlight is our particpation in The Ryde Spectacular performed at the Opera House.

ACTIVE AFTER SCHOOL SPORTS

The federal government funds a 7 week Active lifestyle program each term. The program is held for 1 hr Monday and Tuesday afternoons from 3:25pm-4:15pm. The program has been developed to get students active during their after school time slot.

Students participate in non-skill based sport activities which are run by Miss Brown and Mr Oddy. Make sure you keep a keen eye on the school newsletter for application dates because spots are limited!

MEADOWBANK EDIBLE GARDENING (MEG)

The Meadowbank Edible Gardening club has been running successfully now for a term and will continue to run again this term after school. Ross Baker, a horticultural lecturer from Ryde TAFE, has been teaching the students about seed germination and the types of soil and environments needed for the plants to get a good start in life. The students enjoyed sowing so much they planted over 500 seeds!

We’ve been watching in wonder as little shoots from lettuce, tomatoes, and a variety of herbs have developed into healthy seedlings. The students also learnt that some plants grow from “cuttings”. After dipping the stems into a bit of hormone gel, they planted over100 of them into a special soil. All the students have been eagerly anticipating the construction of the garden beds at our school so they can transplant their little creations.
